Onigiris/Rice Balls- basically frozen and revived through the microwave ...one's got a strip of nori and the larger one's a yaki onigiri. (Wasn't able to get a pic of the onigiris unwrapped, but if you'd like to see some pictures, another Flickr user, Tare Panda, has her own at flickr.com/photos/clam-chowder/sets/72157600857534502/)
For those interested in making their own onigiri, go to Justhungry.com (the BEST and most COMPLETE rice and rice ball tutorial on the web I've found) Doesn't matter whether or not you've got the moulds ;)

Pork Gyozas- made them last week and froze raw to fry whenever I want some, first time I've tried gyozas with pork; I've always used shrimp in them.

Divider- Mint leaves from the garden :) Apparently they also have anti-bacterial properties. Mint's really easy to grow-- just buy a plant and leave it in the garden to fend for itself (yeaah, I'm SUCH a nice gardener, aren't I?)

Pineapple- Canned leftover from upside- down pineapple cake I made earlier today.

Oak Center General Store - detail

We went for a drive today and stumbled upon the best little store. It's a turn-of-the-century general store which has been revived as an organic food store. There is a dance hall upstairs where bands play most weekends.

Inside, it looks pretty much exactly as a 1930s general store would look--if it were run by hippies. You can even buy glass-bottled soda from an ancient Coca-Cola machine.

It was really hard to choose between these two but I've gone with this one because the subject is closer, I like the background guy better and there's no distracting black blur in the foreground. I could have stood here all day taking pictures but I didn't want to seem like a creep and G only has so much patience.

This beauty from FatHeads is the most correctly named sandwich ever. I'm not a food snob, but I had to close my eyes while taking bites of this to enjoy the flavor as much as possible. Ungh...I'm seriously salivating looking at the picture now, and it's still heavy in my gut 5 hours later. So good...
