and got stuck on Jiggy's fur during their raccoon raid.

when i asked them if they've been in the off-limits area,
they both looked innocentLy and posed cute.

i toLd them the evidence just got them caught!

SDC10017 - Racoon 3

We were about to head off for bed when the motion lights went off and the dog went crazy. This lone Racoon was drinking and cleaning their food in our pool. While they are sort of cute and all that crap, they actually harbor a lot of diseases that are zoononotic (i.e. the disease can travel between animals and humans through a vector like feces). These pictures are pretty poor, but you can't expect national geographic photos from a 0 digital point and shoot.

In the morning I went to check out what they had been eating. It turns out that this little one had a taste for snails and had a big pile of crushed snail shells.

spent the afternoon across the border in a few thrift stores, a fabric store, and few other superstores, checking out what things are like north of the border.

it was just about all i could do to not walk out the door with this clock, choosing to leave with a picture of it instead. we don't need a clock, but i very nearly convinced myself that i needed THIS one.

walked out, instead, with a big enameled stock pot (!) and a really nice, well-priced () stainless steel manual food mill. not so cute, but exceedingly more practical, and I've wanted a SS food mill for years now.

Waif Kitty

A new little kitty has shown up at the food bowl!!!! Very playful and cute as the dickens, but also very feral...we haven't even been able to touch him yet, although he has been coming a little closer!

Sorry for the poor picture quality, but these are all maximum zoom shots using a flash...just couldn't get any closer....
