Toronto Life Cookbook Event at CFC

Toronto Life and CFC celebrated the premiere edition of Toronto Life Cookbook, featuring 100 recipes from the city's best chefs. Guests sampled a variety of culinary food and drink offerings made from recipes from the Cookbook.

The evening also marked the unveiling of the Miele Kitchen,
designed by J.F. Brennan, and the GlucksteinHome design project at Windfields Estate.

This local restuarant in Muscat, capital of the Persian Gulf state of Oman, only has private rooms with a carpet in the middle and cushions around the walls on which one sits. The food is brought or large aluminium trays like the one in the picture

Can you say, “clafoutis?” I think my older son loves to make this dish with me, just so he can say that word over and over again.

While I make the batter, he peels the pears, slices them and then takes the peeler and carefully extracts any remaining seeds from the slices. So much love, care and respect for the food he prepares. All the while happily chanting, “clafoutis! clafoutis! clafoutis!”
