Rice Pudding

My first attempt at Rice Pudding. Initial taste tests indicate success. This was also my first use of a whole vanilla bean. They smell amazing.

I really must get better at taking pictures of food. Any suggestions Simi?

Fresh Perspective

I took this picture during Phi Class' Looking Good Night. The food, the environment, and the people (believe it or not) made up for a really good night; but as we all know, it didn't end there...

Anyway, that's not the focus of this post. I don't have the time to come up with an inspirational and philosophical entry (as I use to do back in the day). However, with the help of my closest friend, Google, I came upon two quotes that kind of sums up what I was thinking when I chose to present the photo this way:

"‘By far the greatest impediment and aberration of the human understanding arises from [the fact that]...those things that strike the sense outweigh things which, although they may be more important, do not strike it directly. Hence, contemplation usually ceases with seeing, so much so that little or no attention is paid to things invisible." ~ Francis Bacon

"‘No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist." ~ Oscar Wilde
